Gifts and offerings support the work of Central United Methodist Church, funding worship and music, programming for people of all ages, and care and maintenance of the facility. The facility itself is used for church activities and as a meeting place for organizations in the community, including The Shalom Peace Center; Sistrum: Lansing Women's Chorus; Alcoholics Anonymous; Contra Dancing; and Peppermint Creek Theater.
Lansing Central United Methodist Church shares resources with several area organizations that serve people in need, including South Lansing Ministries, Wesley Foundation campus ministries, Willow School and more. Central UMC contributes to the work of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), which serves those across the globe affected by things like natural disasters, hunger, poverty, international and domestic emergencies.
